Adding or dropping a course; switching from credit-to-audit or audit-to-credit

IMPORTANT!! Do not use the regular UA registration system (WebReg or RSVP) to add, drop or change from credit-to-audit or audit-to-credit any UA Distance Learning courses. All course changes must be made through the UA Distance Learning office.

Any action you wish to take to add or drop a distance course or to change from credit to audit (or vice-versa) must be done through the UA Distance Learning office at Outreach College. Please do not attempt to take such action yourself through the University of Arizona RSVP system or Web Registration.

Changes are very easy to make. We require written confirmation of course modification requests before we make any modification to your schedule or issue any refunds. Include your full name, Student ID, Course number and name, and Semester in the request. Fax or email requests are acceptable: fax us at (520) 626-1102 (attention Distance Learning) or email distance@email.arizona.edu.

We'll send you a confirmation email when we receive your written drop request. If you don't get an email from us, please re-send your request. The drop will be recorded in Student Link. You are not officially dropped until the record appears in Student Link.

Refund policies

We certainly want you to successfully complete your courses, but should you find you must drop, please note the University of Arizona refund policies. Refer to the Important Dates section on our Distance Learning homepage for information on the last day for a refund.

For students with employee education benefits: If your employer does not pay for your class, you will be responsible for paying UA Distance Learning all applicable tuition and fees.

Grades, booklists, Student Link:

The University of Arizona no longer mails grade reports. The final grades are posted by the Office of Curriculum and Registration in Student Link.

You can get your official final grade on line from Student Link. Go to the UA home page (www.arizona.edu). Click on "Student Link" on the lower navigation bar. Enter your student ID (SID) and PIN to get access to your student records. Then click on "Grades."

A report can be printed for various uses such as submitting to employers for tuition reimbursement. When printing for official use, make sure the display option is turned on showing your name and student ID.

To activate the display option to print out a copy with your name and SID on it, click on "Preferences" (upper navigation bar) and then on "Display Settings." In the box "Show Display Name" check the box; then click "Update."

Possible grades: See the University of Arizona’s Catalog (http://catalog.arizona.edu/2006-07/policies/grade.htm) for a listing of all possible grades.

Requesting an incomplete (“I”): If you are unable to complete a course within the prescribed time, you may request an incomplete from your professor. If the professor grants the incomplete, you must mutually agree to the conditions upon which you will complete the course, and in what time frame. The university has strict policies on the granting and term limits of incompletes (see University of Arizona Grading Policy Manual for details).

If you should receive an incomplete, complete the course later, and then need a written copy of your grade, you can contact the University of Arizona Office of Curriculum and Registration for a transcript.

Activate your University of Arizona email account

All registered University of Arizona students must activate their UA email account (through UA Webmail). This is an Internet webmail account, accessible from any browser. Apply first for your UA NetID and password. Once your NetID and password have been assigned, go to the Account Program page and click on “Create CCIT Computer Accounts” to activate your account. Your email address will be <your NetID>@email.arizona.edu.

To access your email account, go to the UA Webmail access page.
